Amelia Lee

An Alberta native, Amelia has been training as a dancer and actress from an early age. It all began with ballet, jazz, tap, vocals and stage, and she later continued to study contemporary, hip-hop, musical theatre, and modern.

Her first “real job” was when she was featured in the musical theatre production of The King and I (Citadel Theatre) at the age of 11. She continued to stretch her artistic abilities in productions such as The Women, Alice in Wonderland, The Nutcracker, Beauty and The Beast, and two seasons with Vancouver’s Pacific National Exhibition’s outdoor production, City Rhythm.

Amelia also spent several years as member of the professional hip-hop dance crew, Details, where she had the privilege of opening for such artists and groups as the Jabbawockeez, George Nozuka, Politic Live, and many others. During this time, Amelia also had the honour of performing with upcoming pop sensation, Mackenzie Dayle, in her debut concert, The Wait is Over. Being a part of Details also gave Amelia various charity, industrial and corporate performance opportunities which included NBA’s Hoop It Up Tour, 2008 Alberta Summer Games Half Time Show, Edmonton’s Singing Christmas Tree, Stand up for Love Benefit Concerts, and Driven To Perform (DTP) Car Shows.

As a teacher and chorographer, Amelia worked under the mentorship of Shelley Tookey, developing award-winning work with the dancers of Shelley’s Dance Company. Throughout the years, Amelia’s choreography has been featured in Missions Fest Vancouver, ATESTO Vancouver, Kinesis – Edmonton’s Young Choreographer’s Ball, HMP Productions Western Canadian Tour, and Mackenzie Dayle’s debut concert, The Wait is Over.

Outside the studio, Amelia loves hustling as the Executive Producer of ATESTO Vancouver, an annual creative arts show that features various artists throughout the Lower Mainland.
