Meredith Watson

Like many dancers, Meredith’s passion started early in life. Her first dance classes were part of her school curriculum at age 4 on the Caribbean island of Barbados & she quickly moved to studio instruction. Following the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus Meredith completed several levels of examinations, as well as receiving prizes for her Jazz performances. She participated in large scale dramatic music and dance arts productions at her academic and dance school before emigrating to Canada in 2012. She danced with Debbie Lee Dance and competed in local Lower Mainland competitions earning accolades & prizes in classical ballet, jazz and contemporary genres.

Meredith moved to the Landing Dance in 2015 and graduated from there in 2019. She enjoyed success in both individual and group competition and successfully completed her Intermediate Modern ISTD certification. After having taken a hiatus, Meredith is now anticipating being back in dance class again, this time as teacher. She hopes to pass on her knowledge and enthusiasm to a new generation of young dancers and pay forward the many happy years she spent at The Landing.
