Jazz

Dancers in the Jazz Spotlight Program train and compete in either Junior or Intermediate Jazz Spotlight groups. Dancers also train in complementary dance genres such as acro, tap, ballet or modern with a minimum of 3 hours of core training per week.

Jazz Spotlight dancers compete up to three times per year, attend local conventions and performs in both The Landing Dance Centre’s Advanced Showcase ‘Launch’ and year-end performance ‘Dance Vancouver’, as well as other community events throughout the year. Jazz Spotlight dancers also have the oppourtunity to compete in solos, duos or trios.

Dancers in the Jazz Spotlight program are generally in their first few years of competition, are working towards a Company placement or simply LOVE jazz! Dancers in this advanced jazz program often combine Spotlight genres such as tap or acro. They are eager to get into the classroom to try new skills and step out from the wings to perform on stage.
