Dancers in the Tap Spotlight Program train and compete in either Mini, Junior, Intermediate or Senior Tap Spotlight groups. Dancers also train in complementary dance genres such as jazz, modern or hip hop with a minimum of 3 hours of core training per week.
Tap Spotlight dancers compete between two to four times per year, attend local and international conventions and performs in both The Landing Dance Centre’s Advanced Showcase ‘Launch’ and year-end performance ‘Dance Vancouver’, as well as other community events throughout the year. Tap Spotlight dancers also have the opportunity to compete in solos, duos or trios.
Dancers in the Tap Spotlight program can be entering their first few years or competition or seasoned performers, they may be working towards a Company placement or simply LOVE making music with their feet! Dancers in this advanced tap program often combine Spotlight genres such as hip hop or jazz. They are eager to push themselves towards technical proficiency and accept the challenges of new skills and performance opportunities.
